What is psychoeducation?

It is an education aimed at providing information about the nature of mental illness, cognitive abilities, as well as the different diagnoses, prognoses, and interventions in the field of mental health in a human being.

Psychoeducation is a crucial empowerment tool for society. Psychoeducation actively participates in the promotion of healthy and adjusted mental functioning in society. If the individual, family, schools, universities, churches and organizations know about people's mental health, attitudes of stigma, rejection towards these people with mental conditions could be substantially decreased and empathy, collaboration and systemic and integral work in all social spheres could be promoted.
